Peek What's Inside

The Problem

Many clinical labs, including the University of Iowa Laboratory, use middleware provided through a third-party supplier of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) instruments. This setup may not support connections to all the instruments in your lab.

The Solution

Direct licensing of Instrument Manager enabled the lab to receive the full benefits of the middleware’s vendor-neutral platform including connecting to instrumentation they were not previously able to connect.

Added Benefit

Since the lab began working with its own direct IM system, UI Health Care can now receive support for writing rules for any of the lab’s instruments connected to the direct IM system.
